Composer Study - Camille Saint-Saens

Camille Saint-Saens

"Nothing is more difficult than talking about music: if it is a prickly business for musicians, it is almost impossible for anyone else—the strongest, subtlest minds go astray. "

Camille Saint-Saens (1835 – 1921) was a French composer from the Romantic period. He had perfect pitch and made his concert debut at age 10. He started off as a church musician but because a controversial figure, introducting students to modern music. His marriage fell apart after the death of his infant songs. But Saint-Saens continued to give vivid and precise performances right up until his death. His best known works are “Danse Macabre”, “Samson & Delilah”, and “The Carnival of the Animals”.
