Composer Study - Johann Pachelbel
Johann Pachelbel
"Music is the language of the soul, and it can move us in ways that words cannot."
Johann Pachelbel (1653 - 1706) was a German composer from the Baroque time period. He was a student in Nuremberg where he showed exceptional talent. During his career as an organist, Pachelbel became friends with the Bach family, even teaching Johann Christoph Bach (Johann Sebastian's older brother). Pachelbel helped develop the Baroque style of the fugue (multiple melody lines that mix together to form harmonies) as we hear in his famous song, Canon in D.
