Composer Study - Johann Sebastian Bach

Johann Sebastian Bach

"The aim and final end of all music should be none other than the glory of God and the refreshment of the soul."

Johann Sebastian Bach (1685 – 1750) was a German composer of the Baroque era. His genius and inventiveness of the “Art of the Fugue”, the "Goldberg Variations" and the "Crab Canon" (which can be played upside down and backwards). Bach was happily married two times, had lots of friends, was an excellent teacher, and loved food and coffee. But he didn't always get along with everyone. He sometimes fought with employers, once to the point he was put in jail (house arrest) because his boss didn't want to let Bach go work somewhere else.
