Composer Study - Edward Elgar

Edward Elgar

"This is what I hear all day—the trees are singing my music—or have I sung theirs?."

Edward Elgar (1857 – 1934) was an English composer of the Romantic period. He taught piano and violin at the County Lunatic asylum and the Worcester College for the Blind Sons of Gentlemen. His best known works are the Enigma Variations (which have a rumored bidden melody somewhere in the song) as well as “Pomp and Circumstance” (played at most graduation ceremonies).
